TV aka Idiot box

AMAZING

check this out for info on some of yours' favourite mind-numbing escapism pastime...

When you watch TV, you are put into a highly suggestible sleep-like hypnotic state. This provides easy access to the subconscious. (You switch from Left-side brain thinking, to Right-side.)

Right-side brain use releases endorphins (a natural sedative with properties similar to Heroin) This is significant because the Right-side of the brain does not critically analyse incoming information, instead it uses emotional response. This means there is little or no analysis of incoming information.

"It is therefore not possible but PROBABLE to become physically ADDICTED to TV"

As a result, TV programming can use subconscious messages, which, as you are thinking with the Right-side (the part which reacts emotionally rather than logically analysing) you actually perceive the programmes/information/'facts' to be 'real' (which is why your heart beats faster during Horror films)

Think about that next time you're deciding what to switch onto... ;)

NB: There are obviously interesting and informative TV programmes out there, (The IT Crowd & Mighty Boosh included)... this statement is referring to the general waste television.. yes, that does include East'makemewannakillmyself'enders.
